Johnny was an inspiration to many, many more than will probably write here. Through the endurance of his words I hope he will continue to inspire many more still.

Though you are gone Steven, let us pick up your flag and forge forward, led by the example of courage you have so shiningly set. RIP.

I'm sure JR would be encouraged by the unprecedented display of unity at the emergency climate summit this past week in Copenhagen. While JR taught me that one voice can be a powerful force for good, at the same time, he would also point out that even 2500 highly-qualified scientists' voices will not be enough to get the world's governments to change their policies nor humanity to change its habits.

It's up to each of us who cares about preserving our biosphere to take action and to add our voices to those of the experts. And we need to do it fast: we have only 93 months left (out of the 100 months estimated before irreversible, irreparable damage to our home).

Best wishes for comfort and solace to JohnnyRook's family and friends.

I will miss you, Johnny Rook. You were more real and alive to me than most of the people I know.

Your courage gives all of us, with our own lists of troubles, the strength to continue in this great work to save our species and the life on our planet.

Although I never met you and only had one brief correspondence with you, I will keep a link to you always in my heart. And as long as I'm alive, people who visit our West Coast Climate Equity site will be able to click on the link on our blog roll to your site and read the fine and thoughtful articles you have written.

Thank you, always,
